Nov. 11 marked the beginning of the 2007 winter sports season for wrestling and girls and boys basketball. Sand Creek High School and Falcon High School athletes are busy preparing and getting into gear for the long season ahead. Each sport has from 19 to 25 events, including games, scrimmages, regional and state competitions. The boys and girls basketball state competitions are held March 10, which is also the last day of the 2006-2007 winter seasons. Tryouts for all of the basketball teams were held the week of Nov. 13 and normal practices soon followed. D 49 winter sports teams are beginning to throw out their best game, and hopefully this season will be one to remember.
