ìUncork the Seasonî is the theme for the first wine festival and beer tasting scheduled Nov. 10 at the El Paso County Fairgrounds in Calhan, from noon to 5 p.m. Local Colorado wineries and breweries will be on hand with samples. The event is sponsored by the Eastern Plains Chamber of Commerce and El Paso County. Admission is $25, with a $5 discount for military. Non-drinkers and those under age 21 are invited at no charge. Paid visitors will be able to sample wines and beers; and they will receive a commemorative wine glass. Proceeds will benefit 4-H events and plans to build a Falcon community center.Food, holiday gift and other local vendors are invited to rent space at the event for $65 for non-chamber members and $45 for members.
