On May 3, the Woodmen Hills Metropolitan District held an election for two seats on the board of directors, formerly held by Jan Pizzi and Frank Gonzalez.Five WHMD residents, including Gonzalez, ran for the seats. Josh Killett and Gonzalez won the seats with 246 and 336 votes, respectively. Each will serve a four year term.Killett said he did not want to comment on the election at this time.Gonzalez was appointed to the board in August 2014 to serve out the remainder of former board member Bryan Mendiolaís four-year term. ìI did not think two years was enough to do an adequate job,î Gonzalez said.ìI really want to do what is best for the people and Woodmen Hills, in terms of things like water rates and facilities.îHis priorities for his new term on the board include ensuring the construction of the new wastewater treatment plant, improving the amenities at the recreation center facilities and increasing communication with the community about those facilities.Killett and Gonzalez were sworn in at the regular WHMD board meeting on May 26.
