Andy Franko, Falcon athletic director and wrestling coach, predicted that the Falcons could defeat the Widefield High School squad, which captured the metro league title last year. Franko’s prediction proved true Jan. 9 at the Widefield dual meet at Falcon High School, where Falcon outscored the Gladiators 41-22. The Falcons also had an outstanding day Jan. 15 at the Chatfield duals where they defeated Arapahoe 58-15, Chatfield 56-12, Brighton 66-12 and Columbine 60-21. Mike Dees, who wrestles in the 160-pound class, and Lucas Musseau, who competes in the 189-pound class and also pinned all of the opponents at the Chatfield match, were listed in the Jan. 15 Gazette honor roll. The Falcons overwhelmed Sierra High School 69-9 Jan 23 at Sierra.
