Hammers Construction sponsored a groundbreaking for its 90-acre business park at Highway 24 and Marksheffel Road on June 24. Joe Grossi, marketing director for Hammers Construction, said 50 percent of the properties in the first phase have been sold or leased, including warehouse and office space and about 20 acres of retail and 30,000 square feet of strip mall lease space, which includes a bank and a gas station.Grossi said Hammers is negotiating with other businesses as well.He also said the Colorado Springs Greater Economic Development Corp. referred to Marksheffel Road as the “next Powers Boulevard.”
