UPDATE ON INCORPORATION

Please note: The majority of the updated incorporation information has been taken from Gazette articles. This article is merely an update for your convenience, not an NFH investigative article.According the May 19 Gazette issue, Greg Timm of Cygnet Land won his case to exclude his 50 acres from the town of Falcon. Timm said incorporators did not seek his permission to include his land. Permission from landowners of 40-plus acres must be granted prior to inclusion in the town boundaries.Incorporation committee members also promised at the hearing to attend the El Paso County commissioners’ meeting on Monday, May 21,to discuss county roads and land included within the boundaries. The county also filed charges against the incorporation committee for not seeking permission to include county roads and land in the boundaries……………………………………………………………………..Please refer to the Gazette article,”Would town of Falcon have enough money?” by Jennifer Wilson, published Monday, May 21. The article concerns budget issues for the proposed town of Falcon, citing the fact that no budget has been created. The article cites numerous towns and their budgets.________________________________________________________________________________On Thursday, May 24, an El Paso County judge ruled that the county could keep 468 acres of right-of-way land surrounding the roads inside the boundaries of the proposed town of Falcon. However, some voters have already cast an absentee ballot. At this time, the Falcon boundaries have changed because of Greg Timm’s property exclusion. How the judge’s ruling will affect the boundaries will be determined by the county at a later date. The vote takes place May 29.
