Trunk or Treat

By Coben Scott

On Oct. 19, the Falcon Connections Group hosted a community Trunk or Treat event at the Antler Creek Golf Course parking lot.

Chris Rizzuto, in costume as a scarecrow, and Katie Newbill were the event organizers.

About 10 cars of families and businesses showed up. The trunks popped open and displayed a variety of themes, candy and games. One trunk had thematic music playing from the back of the truck. Most of the trucks handed out candy; others gave out toys and fruit snacks. A couple of trucks offered games such as giant Connect 4 and a plastic axe throw competition.

The Falcon Fire Protection District also showed up, until they had to leave when an emergency call came in. There was a Falcon Connections raffle table; many community members donated gift baskets. Free miniature pumpkins were given to the kids, who sported costumes including a ninja and a flamingo. However, with the cool weather, most of the children were begrudgingly wearing coats and hats with their costumes.

This year was the first Trunk or Treat hosted by the Falcon Connections group; they are planning to make it an annual tradition.
