The Black Forest Community Club is again making seedling trees available to the area’s rural community through the Colorado Forest Service Trees for Conservation Program. The community club’s tree sales project allows buyers to purchase trees in small lots of 10 each to be picked up at the club’s designated location in the Black Forest area. The order pickup date is usually the third weekend in April, but it can be affected by changing growing and weather conditions. The club will notify all those who order as to the exact pickup date and location.Tree availability is on a first come, first serve basis. Orders are due no later than March 26, and forms can be picked up at the Rockin’ B Feed and Supply, Black Forest Post Office, Black Forest R & R CafÈ, Black Forest Lumber, Country Mower & Small Engine, Ayers Saw Shop, Black Forest Liquor and Farmer’s State Bank in Falcon. The forms will also be available on the Black Forest Community Club Web site at http://blackforest-co.com/bfcc or the Black Forest Trails Association at http://blackforesttrails.org.For more information on available species, visit http://csfs.colostate.edu/pages/woodland-seedling.html or contact the Woodland Park Forestry Services at 719-687-2921.
