Trees available at low cost

The Double El Conservation District tree program is in progress. Seedling trees are available for Colorado landowners at production costs.The deadline to order the seedling trees is March 15, with delivery in Simla, Colo., April 5. The seedling trees are supplied by the Colorado State Forest Service. This program is available to anyone who owns one or more acres of land in Colorado. The trees are to be used for conservation purposes such as windbreaks, wildlife habitats, erosion control, reforestation, noise and dust control, etc. Deciduous trees are available in bareroot stock of 25 per bundle at a cost of $26 per bundle (15 deciduous shrub species and 11 tall deciduous trees). Conifers are in regular potted stock of 30 per box at a cost of $75.60 per box ( eight conifer species) and small potted stock of 50 per box at a cost of $75 per box (seven conifer species).For more information, contact Cheryl at 719-541-2359 ext 101.
