The boys track team was successful at the Scorpion Invitational in early April at Sand Creek High school. They received second place out of 17 teams and defeated Sand Creek for the first time.The girls also did well, placing seventh out of 17. The track team has had four meets this season, and many athletes are seconds away from qualifying for state.Sophomore Wes Rickman has already qualified for state. Senior Rachel Thomas is only one second away from qualifying for state in the 300 meter hurdle. Senior Nick White is half a second from qualifying for the 800m. White and Rickman placed first and second for the mile at the Scorpion invitational. There are many other athletes, besides those mentioned, that are fighting for their state qualification.As far as standings, Falcon High School has the fastest times in the 4a region for the 800m, 1600m, 3200m and the 4x800m.ìI feel that the season is going very well! Everyone has improved since last year and we are training harder than ever,î said junior Keenan Ballage. ìI expect for the team and myself to continue to excel. We are finally showing Colorado what Falcon sports can do and it can only get better in the future!î
