Time to move on

My duty as The New Falcon Herald’s sports reporter has come to an end, and I’ve had a blast working with everyone from the paper as well as the students and staff from Falcon High School. I will be moving on to another stage in my life, and I know that all of the experience and knowledge I have gained from writing for the NFH will be of great use.Post graduation, I plan to attend the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, where I will be taking pre-journalism courses. I am hoping to write for the school newspaper there, and I know I have many more adventures to go (journalistically speaking, of course).I eventually plan to transfer to the University of Miami’s School of Journalism, and hopefully I’ll be a successful travel writer sometime in my future! Although all of my plans aren’t completely set in stone, I know the world of journalism hasn’t seen the last of me.I would like to thank everyone from the staff, especially Marylou, for helping me adapt to the wild world of sports writing (which I’m sad to admit I’m not the best at) and for teaching me many valuable lessons. I’ve truly enjoyed my experience with the paper, and although I will no longer be writing sports, I will have the opportunity to broaden my horizons as I write a travel column for the NFH this summer.I will be visiting Lebanon for two months and possibly Petra in Jordan. I’m excited to write about the beauty of the Middle East (because it’s often overlooked), its lively culture and, of course, the conflicts facing Lebanon and other neighboring countries.Writing for the newspaper has been a great opportunity for me, so thank you everyone! Also, I would like to wish Nikki and Amanda luck for next year! I hope everyone has a safe and happy summer! (GO CLASS OF 2007!)
