The new UPS Store in Falcon opened Dec. 14. The store opened the “Friday right before Monday the 17th, the busiest shipping day in December,” said owner Ann Searle. The UPS store is Ann and Jeffrey Searle’s first business.Jeffrey Searle, who is retired from the U.S. Navy, works at Peterson Air Force base. The Searles have been busy raising five children during his Navy career. The Searle family has lived all over the globe, from California to Texas, Guam, Rhode Island and Florida. Ann Searle, who was also in the Navy, said she misses the traveling but was happy to settle in Falcon. “I love Falcon. Everybody is just so friendly here,” Searle said.The couple began toying with the idea of opening their own shipping company when they lived in California. After Jeffrey Searle retired and the Searle family moved to Falcon, they decided to open the new UPS store. “It was good timing, and we thought it was just a great way to be part of the community.” Ann Searle, a Minnesota native, has a degree in accounting and had training from UPS in San Diego, where the family lived during Jeffrey Searle’s Navy career.Ann Searle said she’s happy to have her own business. With a smile, she added, “I love it.”
