The Peyton Princess

For the last 18 months, Brianna Skye Rahn, a senior at Falcon High School in Falcon School District 49, has made a business out of dressing up as various Disney princesses, and performing at parties. The idea came to Rahn after a visit to the mall. ìI was at the mall with my mom one day and saw someone dressed up as Belle (from ìBeauty and the Beastî), and I thought that would be so much fun,î she said.Rahnís performances include songs that correlate to the princess she is dressed as, she said. ìI have pretty much been singing since I have been able to,î she said. Rahn said in her freshman year in college she had classical training through a music studio. Additionally, she has performed with the FHS jazz choir and was cast in the schoolís musical, ìInto the Woods,î as Rapunzel.ìMy biggest performance was this summer when I got accepted into the Opera Theatre of the Rockies and played various roles in sections of operas and musicals,î Rahn said.Typically, Rahn said she gets hired for surprise birthday parties. ìMost of the time I sing and play with the kids,î she said. ìThe little kids are so cute and surprised, and it just makes my day.î Currently, she performs as Elsa from ìFrozenî and Cinderella, Rahn said.Although she will be graduating in May, Rahn said she plans to continue performing as the Peyton Princess as much as she can. In the fall, Rahn will head to the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley where she has yet to declare a major, but she does plan to study opera, she said. During college breaks, Rahn said she hopes to book a few Peyton Princess performances.ìMaking the kids happy is my favorite part because I think it is something they will remember for a long time,î she said. ìMusic is my passion, and kids are so special to me. They are the future.î
