The Exchange Club of Falcon

Protecting children is the focus of the annual Child Abuse Prevention Awareness Barbecue sponsored by the Exchange Club of Falcon. The family friendly barbecue takes place Sept.19, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the old fire station at Old Meridian Road and Highway 24 in Falcon. Itís a fun event that also educates the community about child abuse and prevention. Multiple agencies will exhibit a range of information to help parents and neighbors identify child abuse problems and prevention. Participants will include exhibitors from Lutheran Family Services, Kyndra’s Hope, Peak Vista, TESSA, Hope and Home and Griffith Centers.The Exchange Club of Falcon will provide free hot dogs and drinks for all children who attend. Thanks to support from Schwan Foods, ice cream will be available for just $1. Other food items are available for a minimal donation. A bounce house, a petting zoo and face painting, as well as guest appearances by Spiderman and the National Exchange Club’s Child Abuse Prevention Mascot ìTime Out Teddyî will ensure a fun time for the kids.
