The annual Black Forest Festival is Aug. 15 at the northwest corner of Shoup and Black Forest roads. The event kicks off with a pancake breakfast, from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m.A parade, scheduled at 10:30 a.m., will offer plenty for the youngsters and the oldsters.At noon, a memorial dedication ceremony in honor of Black Forest firefighters will take place at the log school park (the northwest corner of Shoup and Black Forest roads. The ceremony includes guest speakers, an invocation, Amazing Grace performance and a dove release.
- 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., enjoy the following: artisan, nonprofit and business booths; alpaca and mini horses and an interactive obstacle course; a petting zoo sponsored by 4-H; demonstrations plus ìmake and takesî
- 11:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.: music by the U.S. Air Force Wild Blue country band
- 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.: games for the kids
- 12:30 to 3 p.m.: old fashioned games and a dunk tank
