Many people have inquired about that ìthingî under construction in Falcon, near the Guadalajara restaurant. That ìthingî is a pump station; and, after almost one year, Tim Hunker, Meridian Ranch Metropolitan District representative, said construction on the wastewater pump station on Meridian Road is winding down.ìThe station is a sewage pump station delivering sewage to the joint facility owned by Meridian Ranch and Cherokee Metropolitan District,î Hunker said. The joint facility is located just south of Schriever Air Force Base, he said. The Meridian Road station is about 70 percent completed, with an anticipated startup around mid-July, Hunker said. The project had been in the works since 2004 and construction began in July 2012. Hunker said everything has been running on schedule. He said the crane used to lift the equipment should be gone by June, once everything is in place.Once the station is completed, the building will be designed to blend in with the surrounding buildings, Hunker said. ìPeople will only see the top of a concrete lid at ground level and two buildings that will look like the rest of the structures in the neighborhood,î he said.Extensive landscaping around the perimeter of the station will aid in camouflaging the station.
That thing-a-ma-jig nears completion
