Teatime at the library

By Coben Scott

March 10 marked another Falcon High Prairie Library event — this time they hosted a custom tea blend workshop. Similar to the candle workshop, Shannon Walker supervised the event and handed out instructional and educational pamphlets on how to make one’s own tea blend.

The pamphlets covered the difference between regular and herbal teas, along with a short passage about what makes a good tea. Creative “Libertea” was in full swing: a plethora of different possible flavors were laid out across tables. Kettles, sugar and a grinding stone were available for those who wanted to either make tea or get experimental with their blends. Each worktable was full and conversations filled the room. The college group was “spilling the tea” about their friends, and women were “spilling the tea” about the good and bad places to find loose leaf blends and honey around the area.

Next month, the library will be hosting a scrap crafting activity on April 12; the monthly drop-in water coloring event is April 17. Visit the Pikes Peak Library Department: High Prairie Library website to learn more about upcoming events. Visit https://ppld.org/high-prairie-library for programs and events, or call 719-260-3650.
