Parishioners of St. Benedict Catholic Church joined Fr. Paul Wicker of Holy Apostles Parish and St. Benedict Parish Director, Deacon Lynn Sherman, May 18 to dedicate the cross on the planned site of a parish center multi-purpose building, a Church and a Catholic Elementary School. Last year, St. Benedict Parish received an anonymous gift of almost 15 acres of land one-half mile east of Elbert Road on Judge Orr Road. The St. Benedict Parish Building Committee is in the process of conducting a comprehensive needs assessment for the first phase of construction; a multi-purpose building with dedicated worship space, classrooms, offices and a place for the youth program. While St. Benedict Parish will be building that building and later a church to meet the needs of a growing Falcon population, the Diocese of Colorado Springs will be responsible for building the elementary school. For more information on St. Benedict Parish, contact Deacon Lynn at 719-495-1426. The Parish House offices for the parish are located at 11625 Falcon Highway, Falcon, CO 80831.
