FM Global Foundation presented the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office with a check for $3,785. The funds will be used to purchase a MultiRae Plus Detector for the sheriff’s emergency management division’s all-volunteer fire investigation team. The team provides support to 23 fire protection districts and covers more than 2,000 square miles.”The safety of our investigators is a No. 1 priority,” said Emergency Services Division Commander Jim Reid. “The detector will insure that these volunteers can safely enter and conduct an investigation in buildings that have been damaged by fire.”Mountain View Electric Association awarded the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office a $5,000 grant for tasers for school resource officers in eastern El Paso County. Sheriff Terry Maketa received the check for the department in a presentation at MVEA.
