The Educational Opportunity Foundation of the Black Forest is now accepting applications for post-secondary scholarships. Students must be seniors in good standing who live in Black Forest. Students who have successfully completed a GED also are eligible.Application forms are available from guidance counselors at Lewis Palmer High School (contact: Sharon Thompson); Pine Creek High School (contact: Stephanie Cornelio) or Falcon High School (contact: Amber Stecklein) or through the Web site at www.eof.blackforest-co.com. Scholarships are not limited to Black Forest students who attend those schools. Students who attend private institutions and home-schooled students are encouraged to apply.The scholarships are awarded to students who are attending trade schools, two-year institutions or four-year colleges/universities. Scholarships are based on financial need, academic proficiency and evidence of community service. Past scholarship amounts have ranged from $500 to $1,500.Applications must be received by April 7. The scholarships will be awarded at a dinner for recipients and their families May 8 at the Black Forest Community Center.The EOF has been awarding scholarships to deserving Black Forest students for 42 years. The outreach has been extended this year to include more students.
