The October fire safety tip comes from firefighter Chris Hodgin, a five-year veteran of the Falcon Fire Protection District. Hodgin was previously in the road construction business, and he became a firefighter because he wanted to help people. He said people who were influential in his life recommended he become a firefighter. What he likes most about his job is the environment and the camaraderie. Hodgin is single and spends his off-duty time hunting and fishing.October safety tip: Learn the sounds of fire safety. Listen for the sounds of approaching emergency vehicles and give them the right of way. Hodgin said intersections are especially troublesome.
