According to the American Heart Association, when a bystander immediately performs effective cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on a person who has experienced a sudden cardiac arrest, the victimís chances of survival can increase by double or triple. However, only 32 percent of cardiac arrest victims get CPR from a bystander.The Falcon Fire Protection District encourages citizens to make a New Yearís resolution to learn CPR or take a course to refresh rusty skills. CPR is easy to learn and can help save lives.
