Move over GreeleyFor Colorado newcomers, here’s a tidbit of information: Greeley, Colo., has been the butt of “smelly” jokes for years. Traveling through Greeley, one could get a good whiff of the meat processing plant located there.Well, it seems Falcon has a bit of a problem, only there’s no meat processing plant or like industry to cause a “smell.” But some in Falcon have said an odor, specifically at Meridian and Rex roads, makes them “gag.” And one older woman was on Springs news broadcast telling the world she can’t bear to open her window.Although the health department has ensured everyone it’s just a bad odor, rumors suggest the following: the “wind” blowing in from local government offices; an invasion of the incorporation flu (due to rumors that an incorporation effort is about to be rekindled); or a compromised sewage system (that couldn’t be because we’ve built perfect neighborhoods in Falcon).Lowe’s … againThis time, it’s the fire station site rumor: We’ve heard through the grapevine (not a real grapevine – that would be Napa Valley) that Lowe’s will soon seal a deal for the Falcon Fire Department site: from a Lowe’s informant.*Please note – all of the above rumors could be truth by the time the NFH is on the stands, so here’s one that will take some time to investigate.Water slide?Everyone complains that Falcon lacks recreational opportunities. Well, maybe the rumor that a water park is coming to Falcon is wishful thinking – or an outright lie. Whatever, we think a shark tank exhibit would be a better fit!
