Well, Falcon is on the map now. Yep, Falcon has its very own first. Believe it or not, Falcon is the first community west of Omaha, Neb., to have its own Samuel Mancino’s Italian Eatery. This diverse and delectable franchise restaurant exists nowhere else in Colorado. Mancino’s roots are in Michigan, where owner Ron Ciszek grew up. Ciszek and his partner and wife, Amy, couldn’t live without the Mancino fare, so they decided to open a Mancino’s in their own neighborhood. “I could never find anything close to Mancino’s food in Colorado,” Ciszek said.And, from the crowds thus far, it looks like the Midwest Italian phenomenon is a hit in the fast-growing Colorado prairie town. Ciszek said he wanted a restaurant that was family-friendly, casual and appealing to everyone. The appeal goes beyond the food.”My wife brought in the pictures, which gives the restaurant an eclectic flavor,” Ciszek said. He said the people from Elements of Design helped with the dÈcor as well. And the extra touch has prompted Mancino’s corporate office to set a new interior design standard for the rest of the franchises.There is an aroma of Italy when you walk through the doors, and this writer can speak to the taste of the vegetarian grinder – delicio! The Italian food lover can order a gourmet pizza, Italian nachos, lasagna, ravioli, grinders and much more. If you don’t like Italian food, you’re weird. Just kidding, but there are other dishes as well, like oven baked fries, chicken tenders, an array of salads and Sammy’s chicken wings – barbecued or hot and spicy.To add to your pleasure, Fat Tire is on tap and there are a few other beers to quench your thirst. Amy Ciszek is choosing the wines, and they will probably be available by the time you read this. The new Colorado restaurant is open in Falcon Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.Ciszek credits his great staff for a smooth opening.Ron and Amy have lived in Falcon for more than three years, and they have an 18-month-old daughter, Kiele.
