Recycling the hard stuff

By Kristina Sparks

“Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without” was a common expression used during the Great Depression. Today, the expression is “reduce, reuse, recycle.” Whatever the expression, the message is the same and is an important part of sustainable living. Summer is winding down, which is a perfect time to close out the warm season by cleaning up and repurposing items that are no longer needed. The Colorado Springs area has many options to recycle the tougher materials. Here are just a few of the locations. Check websites or call as open times vary.
