The Eastern Plains Chamber will host an electronics recycling event on Sept. 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the northeast parking lot area of Wal-Mart in Falcon. Items accepted include computers, keyboards, cables, TV’s, stereos, small appliances, tires, latex paint, alkaline and lithium batteries, fluorescent bulbs and ballasts as well as ink cartridges and other miscellaneous items. There are recycling fees charged. Net proceeds will be donated to a fund to help build the community park near the new Falcon fire department station. Blue Star Recycles, recipient of the Colorado Springs Business Journal’s Diversity Award, will be on hand to recycle the electronic equipment. For more information, contact Ann at ann.mcneill@proforma.com.
