The El Paso County Fair Queen Committee is seeking qualified candidates to serve as the fair queen for 2012. Eligible contestants must be El Paso County residents, single and never married females and between the ages of 18 and 22. Application packets are available at the El Paso County Fairgrounds office between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Mondays through Thursdays. Go to http://elpasocountyfair.com for an application packet or call 520-7880. During her reign, the El Paso County Fair queen will represent the county at the fair and other county events. The queen is chosen based on judgesí points in four areas: horsemanship, application, public speaking and a personal interview. Applications must be received at the fairgrounds office, 366 10th St. in Calhan by 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16. Late applications will not be accepted.
