The Oasis Salon is now the Polished Beauty Salon and Spa. Jennifer Strauser is the new owner. This is Strauserís first venture as a business owner, and her motivation to own a salon is based on her daughter. ìMy daughter went to beauty school and told me I needed to go, and I decided to leave the insurance world to start doing nails,î she said.Currently, the shop has four hairstylists and three nail technicians; Jenniferís future plans include a total of seven hairstylists, six nail technicians and an esthetician. The four hairstylists who were with the Oasis Salon stayed after Strauser bought the salon.Strauser said what makes her business unique is not just that it is a family-owned business, but also how they manage the customer experience. ìWe are by appointment only so that everyone gets their time with their technician,î she said. ìWe only do walk-ins if we have available appointments. We hear all the time ëthank you for not herding us like cattle.íîStrauser and her family are originally from Iowa; the U.S. Air Force brought them to Colorado 12 years ago. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with her kids and her grandson, and working on various home remodeling projects.
