We are delighted to display our calligraphic samplers illustrating a variety of talents and techniques. For six consecutive months, each guild member was given the same set of instructions, one set for each portion of the sampler, to be completed in secret.July 1 – 31 – Penrose LibraryThe Red Cross is sponsoring a display focused on family and individual emergency preparedness, including first aid/CPR emergencies and disasters, such as house fires, wildfires, tornados, floods and thunderstorms. The display will include tips and tools for family preparedness, a schedule of the Red Cross’s first aid/CPR courses and displays pertaining to pet first aid and wilderness first aid.July 1 – 31 – East LibraryFor teens – Second Battle of the BandsTeens, is your band boss? Enter the library’s Battle of the Bands to prove it! Six bands will be chosen to “play off” at Acacia Park on Aug. 5. Register by submitting one song on audiotape or CD by June 15.
