Female crocodiles lay their eggs in clutches of 20 to 60 eggs. After the eggs have incubated for about three months, the mother opens the nest and helps her young out of their shells.

Unlike other sea turtles, female Kemp’s ridley turtles come ashore to lay their eggs in the daylight hours.

A hawksbill turtle swims just above the seafloor with flippers spread like wings. Hawksbills get their name from their tapered heads, which end in a sharp point resembling a birdís beak.

No matter if itís a Kempís ridley or a hawksbill, very few of the sea turtle hatchlings survive to adulthood. If their eggs are not disturbed by man or nature, the young hatchlings still have to travel from their nest in the sand to the water, and if they make that trip, they are an easy target for ocean predators.
