On Oct 13, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and on Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Peyton community will celebrate the restoration of its downtown shopping area, and introduce new businesses joining Peyton Junction Mercantile on Front Street ó a street that was bustling in the 1900s. Desiree Schultz, the property owner, has spent the last 10 years getting the ìsmall community commercialî zoning established to realize her vision of a bustling district in this century. ìOur motto is ëstaying small on purpose,íî Schultz said. ìThis is an opportunity to do something for the local people.îThe three new businesses at Peyton Junction are Lindseyís Cottage, Frankie-Jeans and Haley Jís Boutique. The event will include activities and give-a-ways!
