Penrose-St. Francis Health Services will offer a free “Caring for a Loved One’s Heart” event in honor of National Heart Month. The event will be held Wednesday, Feb. 25 at St. Francis Medical Center, 6001 E. Woodmen Road, in Colorado Springs. Body Mass Index screenings and information tables will be available from 5 to 6 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Margaret Sabin, president and CEO of Penrose-St Francis, will present “Importance of Wellness and Balance in Your Life;” Dr. Brian Metz, cardiologist, will speak on “Signs and Symptoms of Heart Disease, Seeking Treatment, Diagnostic Testing and Prognosis;” Larry Seidl, vice president of Mission Integration for Penrose-St. Francis, will present “Managing Stress in our Daily Lives;” Sharon Jacob, registered dietician, and Chef Taylor will demonstrate feeding a healthy heart, with samples to taste.
