The sun was shining and the pancakes were hot at the annual Fourth of July Boy Scout Troop 149 Pancake Breakfast at the Woodmen Hills Recreation Center.Bobbie Deis, one of the mothers helping with the breakfast, said the pancake breakfast proceeds help fund various events and awards for the boys in the troop. She said last year, more than 600 people showed up at the Fourth of July celebration.Besides the pancakes, families enjoyed other activities like a giant inflatable ball, a rope bridge, tent demonstrations and more. Kids geared up for the bike parade, which took place late morning. Most of the young participants had fully decorated bikes ñ red, white and blue streamers were popular as well as flags flying from the handle bars.
