On Nov. 19, the Paint Brush Hills Metropolitan District held a groundbreaking ceremony for the new district offices and maintenance facility at 9985 Towner Ave. in Falcon, Colorado. The 4,900-square-foot facility will include a five-bay shop/maintenance facility, a meeting room with a 40-person capacity, three offices and a reception area.Leon Gomes, district manager, said, ìWe are looking forward to this. It is the first time we will really have a home.îDoug Burrer, PBHMD board treasurer, said facility plans have been in the works for three years, and the board has been dedicated to a disciplined financial plan to fund the project; with the help of additional financing from Farmers State Bank.ìWe do not have to change water rates or the mill levy to build this project,î Burrer said. ìOur goal as a district is to be completely debt-free by 2025.îThe new facility is tentatively scheduled for completion in April 2017.
