I would like to thank The New Falcon Herald for letting me talk about my daughter Kerby Casey Guerra. Kerby Casey Guerra committed suicide on March 19, 1999, at a time when she was bullied and harassed at Eagleview Middle School. We can have the best relationship with our child, and they still will not tell us everything. My daughter did everything right by going to the school principle, teachers, and counselor to have the harassment stopo. The principle told her to get a backbone and stop feeling sorry for herself. When my daughter went to the school counselor to tell her she wanted to commit suicide, she was told to have happy thoughts. My daughter and her friends kept going to them for help, but they never wanted to do anything to stop the bullying. We never received a phone call from the school that my daughter was thinking of suicide. We found out when she tried to commit suicide in January 1999.Here is part of a poem written by my son Cody:My Little Sister …I know you are still with me in my body and soul.I can feel comfortable shivers in my spine and notice a definite new glow.We are all going to miss you especially in times of need.We need your powers now to help cope with the grief. So sit back and relax in your newly found world, and remember Heaven now contains an irreplaceable little girl.Donna Guerra
