OBITUARY

Wesley Luther Wright peacefully entered eternal life on Feb. 26, 2005 after a long illness. Mr. Wright was born to Arlena Ann (Farless) and Luther Wesley Wright June 6, 1922 in Evansville, Ind. Mr. Wright is preceded in death by son Eric Ryan and sister Mary Wilma, his mother and father, and daughter-in-law Linda Wright of Calhan. He was married to Ruth MayBelle Pearce, his loving wife of 52 years, on Sept. 5, 1951.Mr. Wright is survived by his wife, Ruth, three sons Gary Wayne (Linda) Wright of Falcon, Bruce Lynn Wright of Calhan, and Karl Trent Wright of Falcon; his brother, Norman Wright, of Lexington, Ky.; granddaughters Cyndee Taylor of El Cajon, Calif., and Amy L. Wright of Ft. Collins, Colo., Cori R. Wright of Denver; Katie Wright of Colorado Springs; Erica Gates of Pittsburgh, Penn.; grandson Jarred P. Wright of California; “adopted” grandsons Donald Graham of Tucson, Ariz., Robert Graham of Wichita, KS; “adopted” granddaughter Kristina Martinez of Colorado, great granddaughter Zoe Smith; “adopted” great granddaughters Chelsea Mattson, Samantha and Sophie Graham; “adopted” great grandsons Bryton, John and Hayden Graham; and loving nieces, nephews and friends.Mr. Wright was a job setter and machinist at Bucyrus-Erie and International Harvester in Evansville, Ind. He retired from Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs as supervisor of mechanical maintenance. He served in the U.S. Army and earned the European-African-Middle East Campaign Theater Ribbon with three Bronze Stars and the Combat Infantry Badge. He was a member of the American Legion in Security, and life member of Veteran’s of Foreign Wars Post 4051 of Colorado Springs. He attended Sunnyside Christian Church in Colorado Springs.Wes loved his family, the outdoors, nature, and caring for his adopted wildlife friends and doggies. But he especially loved old western movies.A funeral service was held on Wed., March 2 at Swan-Law Cascade Chapel in Colorado Springs. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, Tenn., 39101 in honor of Cori Ruth Wright or individual’s preference.
