Oasis Salon moves to accommodate Dollar store

Oasis Salon has relocated to another space within the same shopping complex at 7376 McLaughlin Road in Falcon. The move was prompted by the new Dollar Tree store. Anne Ballistreri, executive coordinator of DPC Development Co., said Dollar Tree will take possession of the space in February, and open April 1.Mark Smith, co-owner of the Oasis Salon, said at first they were stressed at having to move so soon after purchasing the salon from the previous owners. Smith and his wife, Lenette, bought Oasis in January 2012; DPC asked them to move just two months later. It all turned out for the best, though, because Smith said they are now in a ìbetter space.î DPC paid for the move, and the Smiths were able to put their own touches on the salon, like the murals that adorn almost every wall. Plus, since it was a new build, Smith said, ìIt all had to be done to code, so now we are ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) accessible.î Lenette Smith said they added extra insulation to the pedicure room to deter noise and maintain privacy.Currently, the salon has seven hairstylists, including the Smithís daughter Amy, who is the manager of the salon. There is one nail tech on site.
