No on the mill levy

Falcon D 49 voters are being asked to trust the district administration and school board with $156 million to be raised by the 2005 mill levy issue 3A. They promise true accountability.Let’s look at just a few promises made by D 49:

  • Before the election of 2004, the administration promised they would respect the voters’ decision and NOT put another tax issue on the ballot in 2005. Surprise! Promises made, promises broken.
  • The board and administration has promised the need for $156 million is based on an annual growth rate of 12 percent. Surprise! The growth rate is really 6 percent. Promises made, promises broken.
  • D 49 promised they would maintain a lean, financially responsible budget focused on the classroom. Surprise! They have diverted almost 40 percent of your annual taxes away from the classroom and into the non-teaching administration. Promises made, promises broken.
3A is full of promises. You be the judge.Homer GregoryFalcon
