The Cherokee Metropolitan District recall that took place in June was a victory for two people going forward and a defeat for two long-term members, Steve Hasbrouck and Linda Keleher. Jeremy Atkinson received 785 votes to Keleher’s 175 votes, and Kim Wilson received 821 votes to Hasbrouck’s 214 votes. According to the Cherokee Metro District, Hasbrouck was voted out by a majority of more than 1,000 yes votes, with no votes totaling 505. Linda Keleher was recalled by a vote of 1,084 yes votes to 460 no votes total.

“Now that the divisiveness on the Cherokee board is behind us, we intend to move forward in a positive direction to improve the water, the parks and the customer experience,” Jeremy Atkinson said.

“The win of the election is a good victory,” Kim Wilson said. “Going forward, I would like to see a change in Cherokee customer service, better water quality, better billing fees (hoping to lower them), a unified board and better parks. Based on my financial experience with the government for over 35 years, I would like to look into Cherokee financial accountability.”
