Barbara Davis started waiting tables when she was 13 years old, and later in life ended up managing a five-star restaurant in Montana. She’s always wanted to own a restaurant, and her wish came true when she bought the Rock Island Restaurant from Mary Gin.”This is what I’ve wanted to do my whole life,” Davis said. She grew up on a farm with eight brothers and sisters, who, she said, have all been supportive of her decision to own a restaurant.Davis isn’t making too many changes at the restaurant. She has added a fresh fruit plate, a fresh veggie plate, baked potatoes, coleslaw and more salads. But she said she’s “sticking to country fare.” Davis wants to keep the family atmosphere and the regulars. “This was theirs before it was mine,” she said.Davis has lived in Falcon for two years with her husband, Kevin, who owns Chem Pro Carpet Cleaning, and two daughters, ages five and six.She will cater as well – just give her plenty of notice.
