New owner at Splash Bath

Splash Bath Grooming at the Shops at Meridian has a new owner. Sandi Spreier worked at Splash Bath before buying the shop last month from the original owner.ìI had been out of the workforce for a couple of years until I started working with pets,î Spreier said. ìIíve always loved animals and always had three to five dogs. I enjoy working around them.î Her desire to work with animals prompted her to attend school at ABC Grooming, and she will become a full-fledged groomer in about five months. As the owner of the shop, her past experience in retail, restaurants and management is a plus. Her husband, Matthew, is retired from a 29-year career with the U.S. Army; he now works as a civilian at Peterson Air Force Base. They moved to Colorado from South Carolina about 12 years ago, and lived in Fort Carson for about six years until moving to Falcon, where they have lived for six years. They have three grown sons; one granddaughter and two grandsons. One son and the two grandsons live in Colorado Springs and one son is in Michigan; the other in Germany.Spreier said she and her staff offer full grooming services, self-bathing service and walk-in nail trims. They serve dogs and cats and have even had rabbits and hamsters in for grooming. Our goal is to treat the animals ìfairly and nicely, with respect,î she said. They will be remodeling the shop over the next couple of months, so Spreier asks people to be patient. When she and her husband have time for leisure activities, she said they like to camp and hang out with family and their French bulldog/terrier mix and St. Bernard. The shop is currently open Thursday through Monday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. After September and the remodeling is complete, they will open seven days a week. The shop at 11858 Stapleton Dr. also carries a variety of grooming supplies and other items. Their phone number is 719-559-2284.
