El Paso County commissioners approved a new position at the county for an energy program manager. The person hired will oversee an energy program for all county owned facilities and research ways to save money on energy usage and costs.ìWe are predicting this new position will save the county 10 to 20 percent or more of our $2.8 million utility bill in the first year alone,î said Board Chair Dennis Hisey.The utility budget will fund the position, which opened Feb. 11.
