Boy Scout Troop 128 is a new troop chartered by the Christian Homeschool Troop under Jubilee Ministries. The new troop meets in the Falcon/Black Forest area every other Monday at the Art Jubilee Studios in Black Forest.Although new, the troop is off and running fast paced. Instead of the traditional scout summer camp, these boys are working to raise funds to work at the Midland, Texas, Commemorative Air Force Air Show in September. The trip is 10 days, with three of the days spent working at the air show. The Scouts also have been busy clearing slash, working at the Meadow Lake Airport Young Eagles events, as well as other fundraisers.Besides fundraising, the Scouts are serving the community doing yard work for the elderly and helping with projects at the Meadow Lake Airport facility.If anyone has a boy at least 10 years old who would like to join in these adventures, call Scout Master Christopher Bateman at 719-749-0101 or e-mail chrisbateman@wbecin.net for more information.
