The photo on the front page (June issue) depicts a male in a semi-Marine uniform (note the red piping, navy blue material), and a female in an Army uniform (the hat and green color are the give-away).While I appreciate the information you’re passing in your story, I ask you be more selective in choosing accompanying photos. As one who’s served 23 years in the Marine Corps, I’m sure I speak for many local Marines by saying your supposed picture of a Marine is embarrassing. We have strict regulations regarding hair length, not to mention the hat (we say “cover”) is not even a regulation uniform item for active duty, and the Eagle, Globe and Anchor emblem on the collar is reversed. The picture turns the stomach of anyone who’s worn the uniform, but it also leads the uninformed public to think that’s how all Marines look. I look forward to more of your great articles in the future.Scott SimpsonMGySgt USMC
