Mountain View Electric Association awarded grants Sept. 12 to the following:Agate School District: $5,000 to assist with the purchase of needed equipment for the Agricultural education program and the weight room; Town of Ramah: $3,408.14 to assist with fencing the water tower and pump house; Simla Good Samaritan Center: $5,000 to assist with the purchase of a new, specialized bathtub; Tri-County Volunteer Fire Department: $5,000 to purchase much needed extrication equipment.Several grants distributed to individual families in the MVEA service area: a young family on the brink of foreclosure received $2,000 to assist with unexpected and substantial medical bills; $2,000 to assist another family with sudden and major medical bills; $338 to assist an elderly woman with limited resources for the repair of her dentures
