On May 26, Bridget Edgell and Spring Gould reopened Mountain View CafÈ and Catering in Black Forest; they are featuring new menu items and new hours. They continue to serve breakfast and lunch, and have added dinner service on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.Edgell and Gould grew up in a small town in Maine and have remained best friends. The friends have 30 years of restaurant experience combined. ìTen long years ago, we went on a mountain adventure and dreamed about leaving corporate restaurants and owning our own cute cafÈ,î Gould said. After an Edgell family tragedy, the friends decided they wanted more freedom in their jobs and more time with family. ìThis cafÈ went up for sale and upon visiting it, we felt so at home with the area that we put in an offer, and the rest is history,î she said.The ownersí mission is ìto deliver flavorful dishes with personable service in a beautiful environment,î Gould said. They have a desire to provide a variety of menu items and have enhanced the cafeís menu with their own family recipes. They also offer private bookings for events such as meetings, birthdays and baby and bridal showers.ìWe have an amazing team of eight, not including the owners,î Gould said. ìWe have a fantastic blend of friends, family and new additions to the team. We are so appreciative of their hard work and support.î Gould said Bridget’s husband, Clayton, has also been a ìhuge partî of the restaurant.They also keep busy as moms. Gould has two children and Edgell has one.Gould said the Black Forest community has welcomed them. The Edgell family lives in Black Forest, and Gould is planning to relocate to the area. Gould said, ìWe are grateful to be a part of this amazing community and want to see all businesses here succeed.îMountain View CafÈ and Catering is located at 11425 Black Forest Road, Suite 6. They are open from 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday through Tuesday; 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday; the restaurant is closed on Wednesdays.
