The Pikes Peak Library District will host the second annual Mountain of Authors event April 12 to showcase authors of the Pikes Peak region. The event includes presentations about writing and publishing.The free program will be held from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, April 12 at the East Library at 5550 N. Union Blvd. No registration is required. The Pikes Peak Poet Laureate Project, http://www.pikespeakpoetlaureate.org, will announce the first Poet Laureate at a ceremony following the program from 4 to 6 p.m.The library district hopes this event will inspire new and established writers, as well as offer book fans a chance to meet and discuss their favorite novels with local authors. Panel discussions will be offered by nonfiction, fiction, children’s and teen authors. A free lunch and book signing will also be held at the event.
