More on Black Forest new pavilion

Stauffer & Sons Construction donated their services to build the Log School Park and the new Black Forest Pavilion. Earlier this year, they had been rebuilding some structures down at Venetucci Farm, using logs that had been burned in the Black Forest fire for the project. Leif Garrison with the Black Forest Community Foundation heard about this and thought it would be a nice idea to do the same in Black Forest. They interviewed a few builders, and Stauffer & Sons were selected as the general contractor for the project. The whole project was a community effort from start to finish. Many residents donated their trees to be used for the project; the†local chapter of the AIA (American Institute of Architects) donated their architectural and engineering services; and funding for the park was provided by the American Red Cross and many other donors. ìIt was very nice to see everyone in the Black Forest really come together and share their time, treasures, and talents,î said Andy Stauffer. ìNow that it’s built, it will give locals an outdoor venue for community events, which is something that didn’t exist before. We’re very happy to have been a part of it.”
