Falcon Hillsí resident Mark Rose opened the new 7-Eleven on Meridian Road Dec. 18. The family-run gas station and convenience store is Falcon’s fourth gas station and Rose’s first franchise with the company.Rose has lived in the Pikes Peak region for more than 20 years, including 10 years in Falcon. He moved to Colorado when the U.S. Army transferred him to Fort Carson. He also worked as an information technology worker for Hewlett Packard and Agilent Technologies before deciding to go into business for himself. In August, he realized that 7-Eleven Store Development wanted to open a store at the Meridian location. Rose decided to purchase the franchise.ìThere really havenít been any problems getting started,î Rose said. ì7-Eleven has a great system in place and great support.î The Meridian store has 10 employees, all of whom are new to 7-Eleven, including Rose’s two daughters.ìThis is a great location and will be convenient to all the morning traffic of people going to work,î Rose said. ìWe’re easy to get in and out of. The parking lot is deliberately set up for people with horse trailers and other trailers to get here and get out. As someone who has a 31-foot travel trailer, I’m thrilled that we set it up like that.îThe station and store is open 24-hours daily. The store will hold a grand opening celebration, currently scheduled for Feb. 7.
