Meridian Service Metropolitan District (MSMD), is thrilled to announce the start of construction on a new $15,000,000 Fieldhouse for the Meridian Ranch Community in Falcon.
MSMD will hold a groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday, Sept. 4, at 1 p.m. at the new Fieldhouse, 10559 Rainbow Bride Drive in Falcon.
The Fieldhouse is the final major recreation facility in the development of Meridian Ranch, a 2,650-acre development that at buildout will contain 5,000 single family homes and a commercial area.
Started in 2000, Meridian Ranch has seen the development of approximately 3,800 homes to date plus the existing recreation center, parks, open space and miles of trails. Meridian Ranch also is home of the Antler Creek Golf Course as well as the 223 acre El Paso County Falcon Regional Park.
The new Fieldhouse, when completed, will provide 45,000 square feet of space, including a new indoor turf field for a multitude of activities such as soccer, lacrosse, flag football and overall recreational activities. Additionally, the new Fieldhouse will contain a workout area with new, state-of-the-art fitness machines, a group exercise studio with an outdoor turf attachment, a childcare center and a walking track suspended above the indoor turf field. The Fieldhouse has been designed to accommodate a future indoor multi-use area, including a full-size basketball court that can also be used for activities such as volley ball.
The Fieldhouse has been contemplated as a second recreation center to handle the needs of the Meridian Ranch residents … with continued growth, the time has come to expand the recreational opportunities in the community. Additionally, the Fieldhouse will allow Meridian Service to move its youth soccer and football programs onto the indoor turf to help prevent damage to the natural grass in its parks and assure the scheduled games and practices do not get canceled due to weather.
Designed by LKA Partners Inc. of Colorado Springs, construction management will be provided by Art C. Klein Construction, also of Colorado Springs.
Butch Gabrielski, president of the Meridian Service Metropolitan District, said, “The new Meridian Ranch Fieldhouse will be a great addition to the community and has long been anticipated by the residents of Meridian Ranch. This project is the culmination of planned recreational opportunities in the community, and we look forward to the successful completion of the project in the fall of 2025.”
